IBSOFT Ltd. – Limited Warranty Terms & Conditions for Tandem Kinetics Products

  1. WARRANTY COVERAGE
  1. a) Inverter Products

IBSOFT Ltd. (“The Manufacturer”) warrants that its inverter products (“The Product”) will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under standard operating conditions for a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase (“Warranty Period”).

  1. b) Lithium Battery Products

The Manufacturer warrants that its lithium battery cells (“The Battery”) will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for five (5) years from the original date of purchase, determined by proof of purchase, shipping invoice, or Battery serial number.

  • First two (2) years:
    The Manufacturer will repair or replace defective Battery cells at its sole discretion.
  • Years three (3) to five (5):
    • If repairable: The Battery will be repaired and returned.
    • If not repairable: A 30% discount on a new comparable Battery will be offered (valid for 30 days after notification).

Important Condition:

Warranty coverage for Batteries is valid only if the Battery has been operated within a maximum charge and discharge rate of 0.2C (i.e., no more than 20% of the Battery’s rated capacity per hour).

Exceeding 0.2C voids all Battery warranty obligations.

  1. c) Solar Panel Products

The Manufacturer warrants that its solar panels (“The Panels”) will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for five (5) years from the original sale date.

Solar Panel output must remain above 80% of the original rated capacity during the Warranty Period, provided the Panels are properly maintained.

Important Exclusions:

  • Damage from hot spots or cell burns caused by irregular cleaning, excessive soiling, or shading is not covered.
  • Damage from mechanical impact, vandalism, extreme weather, or faulty mounting systems is not covered.
  • Cosmetic blemishes (such as micro-cracks, snail trails) not affecting electrical performance are excluded.
  1. WARRANTY CONDITIONS

This Warranty is valid only if:

  • The Customer is the original purchaser and provides valid proof of purchase (invoice or receipt).
  • The Product, The Battery, and The Panels are installed, operated, and maintained in accordance with IBSOFT Ltd.’s guidelines as defined in section 4 of this document.
  • The installation site’s electrical systems (distribution panels, grounding, and wiring) are free of faults or defects.
  • All system components (inverter, batteries, breakers, fuses, surge protectors) are appropriately rated and installed.
  • The Products have not been tampered with, modified, misused, or exposed to environmental hazards or accidents.

Failure to meet any of these conditions immediately voids the Warranty.

  1. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

This Warranty does NOT cover:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Consumable parts (such as fans, fuses, external cables, or connectors).
  • Damage due to improper installation, incorrect wiring, poor maintenance, reverse polarity, or cabling undersizing.
  • Environmental damage (saltwater exposure, extreme temperatures, floods, fire, corrosion, lightning strikes).
  • Damage caused by pests (rodents, insects), unstable grid supply, surges, or poor earthing.
  • Batteries operated outside specified parameters, including:
    • Charging or discharging above 0.2C rate.
    • Repeated full discharge cycles without proper recharge.
    • Under- or over-charging, or improper storage (low State of Charge).
    • Connecting to third party products not authorized by The Manufacturer.
  • Solar Panel failures due to:
    • Dirt accumulation causing hot spots.
    • Mechanical damage from impacts, improper cleaning or improper mounting.
    • Cosmetic issues not affecting performance.
  • Use of Products with third-party components not authorized by IBSOFT Ltd.
  • Failure of external components (including breakers, fuses, surge protection devices) even if supplied with the system.
  • Any damages caused by customer’s existing distribution panels, faulty wiring, poor grounding, or electrical defects at the installation site.
  1. CUSTOMER’S RESPONSIBILITIES

The Customer acknowledges and accepts the following obligations:

  • Electrical System Compliance:
    It is solely the Customer’s responsibility to ensure their home or building distribution panels, wiring, earthing, and surge protection are defect-free, compliant, and safe before installation and during operation.
  • Breaker, SPD, and Cabling Responsibility:
    Breakers, fuses, surge protection devices, and cables are not covered under this Warranty.
  • Battery Management:
    The Customer must ensure that The Battery is operated within 0.2C charge and discharge rates at all times. Proper charging equipment and load management must be employed to prevent warranty voidance.
  • Solar Panel Maintenance:
    The Customer must regularly clean the Solar Panels at least every six (6) months to prevent soiling, shading, and hot spots.
  • Surge Protection:
    The Customer must install proper surge protection systems and ensure grounding is maintained throughout the Warranty Period.

Neglect of these responsibilities voids the Warranty.

  1. WARRANTY CLAIMS PROCEDURE

To submit a warranty claim:

  1. Notify IBSOFT Ltd. Via energy@tandemkinetics.tech or the authorized dealer in writing within seven (7) days of discovering a defect.
  2. Provide valid proof of purchase and complete the Warranty Registration (if applicable).
  3. Obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) prior to return shipping.
  4. Ship the defective Product properly packaged, at Customer’s expense, to The Manufacturer’s designated service centre.
  5. Products damaged during transit due to poor packaging are The Customer’s responsibility.
  1. COMPANY RIGHTS AND DISCRETION

Upon inspection, IBSOFT Ltd. reserves the exclusive right to:

  • Repair the defective Product.
  • Replace the Product with a new or refurbished equivalent.
  • Offer a prorated refund based on the remaining Warranty Period.

The Manufacturer’s decision is final and binding.

Repair, replacement, or refund does not extend or renew the original Warranty Period.

  1. NON-WARRANTY REPAIRS

If outside the Warranty Period or if the Product damage falls outside Warranty coverage:

  • Labour charges are ₦60,000 per hour.
  • Parts and shipping charges apply separately.
  1. WARRANTY DISCLAIMER AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

This Warranty is the exclusive remedy provided.

The Manufacturer disclaims all other express or implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

In no event shall IBSOFT Ltd. be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Loss of revenue, data, or operational downtime.
  • Costs exceeding the purchase price of the Product.
  1. GOVERNING LAW

This Warranty is governed by and construed under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Any disputes shall be settled exclusively under Nigerian jurisdiction. This warranty is understood as the exclusive agreement between the parties relating to the subject matter hereof. No employee or representative of the Manufacturer is authorized to make any warranty in addition to those made in this agreement.
